Johan Lindsten has created these fab conceptual chairs...the backrests have a wonderful needlepoint scene stitched into them..."This furnitures destiny is to elevate and promote these neglected pieces of art, bring back a long lost sentimental value and mix it with contemporary ecstatic from Johan Lindsten's vision"...amazing!
Slightly cynical so I'm not sure I agree with the sentiment, but I love the colour and cross stitch inspired design of this print by Hazel Nicholls for Keep Calm Gallery, hand printed on watercolour paper it has a limited edition of 40- so get it quick!
I expect you've already come across the work of Frederique Morrel (below)...but if you haven't, she's an artist that forms one of a kind everyday objects and sculptures from patchworks of vintage needlepoint. More recently she's been creating these life size deer sculptures, where she covers a fibreglass taxidermy mould with vintage needlepoint- amazing!
